Cut the Handle from the Lid
The handle is best removed in chunks. First, cut out the open part of the handle as shown. Don't worry about how these cuts look. Leave a little bit (1/8" or so) sticking up from the underside of the handle - we'll smooth it down later.
Now cut off the two screw receivers.
Next, cut a line across the middle of the screw receivers
and across the vents at the front and remove the next chunk of handle.
Cut down the inside of each side of the remaining chunk...
... and across the front ...
... to remove the last major piece.
Now cut under the last two bits and remove them.
The lid now only needs the remaining ridges ground smooth.
And it's finished (for now).
